Creative Corner--Writing Fiction, Screenplays, Poetry, and Anything in Between
Fiction. Creative Writing. Taking what we learn in life and putting it into a concrete world through an imagined plot or character or setting, all in order to share it with someone else. So many love to do it, but we all have different ways. When I slip into creative-mode, I resist structure. Others love structure. One person writes to explore a captivating image and discover what it means; another has an idea and outlines how to best "show" that idea to a reader. Some love a good plot with twists and constant tension; others enjoy a meandering walk through a character's mind. In this Creative Corner, I don't yet have a structure. I'm writing as I read and learn from other writers' blogs, from articles in magazines and books on screenwriting or poetry or creative nonfiction. Sometimes I'm writing to explore issues that have come up in my own work in progress. If you have an opinion or anything to add, please feel free to
